Hurricane Helene Impact Update
ASHEVILLE, NC - October 2, 2024 – With one of PLI’S facilities located in the disastrous path of Hurricane Helene in Asheville, North Carolina, PLI provides assurance of financial compensation and support to its affected Asheville employees.
PLI is deeply saddened and disheartened for its employees, customers, the greater community, and the greater state of North Carolina that have been affected by the devastation of Hurricane Helene.
While the Asheville facility itself was unharmed, the infrastructure remains without power and water this week, which is expected to be up and running soon. As a result, employees are unable to work this week, provided they even have the transportation available to travel safely to work. Therefore, the Asheville facility has remained closed since Monday, September 30th and intends to reopen on Monday, October 7th ensuring travel safety is of upmost importance for its employees to return to work with the road conditions.
At PLI, our number one priority remains constant – the safety and support of its employees. PLI has conducted employee check-ins within each department for the well-being and safety of its employees and will continue to monitor with routine check-ins. CEO and Chairman, Mark McEachen, confirmed financial compensation to all affected employees for the time missed during the week the facility has been closed. PLI is committed to alleviating some of the burdens this catastrophic event has caused its employees.
PLI places value in the heart of its company - its beloved employees. We understand the importance of being there and taking care of our employees, especially during unprecedented circumstances.
PLI encourages all Asheville employees to continue to report to their manager, Bob Keshura, or Human Resources, and call the weather line for additional updates.
