Leeton has devoted more than 25 years of his legal career to in-house counsel roles for prominent public and privately-held industry leaders in the manufacturing, importing, distribution, retailing, and marketing of consumer products worldwide. Leeton initially joined The Walt Disney Company’s legal department to help The Disney Store grow from 100 stores to nearly 750 stores and to manage its business and legal affairs in 14 countries worldwide. He expanded his role to include the formation and legal oversight of Disney’s worldwide product safety and compliance program and the drafting and negotiations of marketing contracts for Disney’s movies and animated features. During his time at Disney, Leeton was assigned responsibility as an attorney for all promotional sweepstakes and contests for all of Disney’s affiliated companies and marketing partners worldwide.
Leeton has years of experience working for highly respected marketing and promotional firms. He has strong experience in intellectual property, contracts, real estate, regulatory compliance, product and vendor compliance, marketing and advertising, and litigation. He has authored and contributed to numerous trade articles on product safety, social and environmental compliance, and supply-chain best practices for manufacturers, importers, and distributors of consumer products. Leeton earned his Bachelor of Science in Business Administration at Pepperdine University, Malibu, and his Juris Doctorate degree at Loyola Law School, Los Angeles. He is a member of the California State Bar and licensed to practice in state and federal courts.
